Saturday, January 30, 2010 / MACC 1st EGM New Year Edition

MACC = Malaysian Association of Chinese Comedians

Went to MACC 1st EGM New Year Edition on 28th January at PJ Live Arts Theatre @ Jaya One with the rest of MYC! Staff.
(Thank you boss for treating us!)

This is the first time I watched local live stage performance.
It is a stand-up comedy show by Douglas Lim, Chi Ho and Jenhan.
The first opening act is by Phoon Chi Ho.
He talked about Malaysian woman's driver.
How they don't know how to reverse a car.
And sang a song about Malaysian's woman driver.
Which is quite funny.
How woman used rear-view mirror for makeup.
And how they drive with nose so close to the steering wheel that airbag won't work.

The second act is by Kuah Jenhan.

He talked about how much he hates comparison.
The way his mother said Aunty Lucy's daughter is more handsome than him.
(Aunty Lucy's daughter is damn ugly by the way)
And how he wants to be comedian because it is happening, but his parents said it is not happening because "you are not suppose to happen"!
Haha!
One of my favorite jokes from him are:
Guys are like vacuum.
At first, they clean your dust.
They practically take your breathe away.
But when they broken down, they don't clean dust anymore.
Gradually, they suck your life away.
But as he said, he is different.
He is more to a broom man.
He cleans, he will sweep off your feet.
And he is a sportsman too.
He occasionally play Quidditch.(For people who read or watch Harry Potter, you will get what it means)

The last and most important act is Douglas Lim.

Apparently, he is the president, vice-president, treasurer and secretary of MACC.
He talked more about political scandal and jokes.
Like how Westerner equate annoyance with sex while Chinese equate annoyance with death.
"Go die la you"
And about Malaysia TV programme censorship.
Like how they cannot show "rojak" language on the TV.
For example: "Mamak, give me a cup of 'teh tarik' and one 'nasi lemak'"
Will become this.
"Indian Muslim, give me a cup of 'pull tea' and a 'fatty rice'"
LOL!
In the end, he sang a rendition of Beyonce's Halo which is Yellow(as in Chinese people skin color)
The jokes are more to silly scandals and political pooh-poohs!
They really cracked me up!
Haven't laugh so hard in such a long time already.
Great show.
A +++

The only picture I got.
It's too dark to take any good pic.

Friday, January 29, 2010 / Food Poisoning

Food poisoning experience.
First time ever.
On Thursday night, I ate a bowl of Maggi Mee instant noodle.
And then it began!
The stomach pain.
The diarrhea nightmare.
Rushing to the toilet for a 6-7 times.
Stomach pain like hell.
The pain was unbearable until I almost fainted.
My vision started to get darker and darker until I have to squatted down to let it pass.
Went to sleep.
Tossed and turned until 1am something.
Could hardly get enough sleep.
The next day, I thought I will be okay, so I went to work.
But I was so tired, and the stomach cramp comes every 2 hours.
The pain is not like any normal pain.
It is indescribable.
It feels like someone squeezing your whole stomach and sucks the air out of you.
So, I decided to take half day leave to see doctor.
Luckily, Wan Ching accompanied me to search for clinic.
Thought I can go to the clinic that is near by my hostel.
But it was closed! >.<
I think it is always closed.
Then we know Sentosa got clinics but we are not really familiar there.
So we took cab and went to SS2 to find the clinic.
When we reached there, it was already 2.30pm.
We found the clinic but guess what?
They are out for lunch until 4pm!
I was like...what???
Then with no other choice, we went to a cafe shop to drink and eat first until 4pm.
Finally, see the doctor.
He asked me to lie down and pressed my stomach.
Then he said, "Food Poisoning."
Took the medicine and everything, paid RM45 and went home to sleep.
This is my first time experience of food poisoning.
And I hope I will not experience it again.
And I vowed to never eat instant noodles again. I never know that eating instant noodle.
Hope I can keep my promise =X

Monday, January 18, 2010 / Graphic Design Showcase 2009

Yesterday went to UTAR GD Showcase 2009.
Thanks to Bluey, Lemon, Mei & Richard for accompanying me going.

Venue: PC008, UTAR, Petaling Jaya Campus, Faculty of Creative Industries
Date: 18th January 2010 - 23rd January 2010
Time: 9am - 5.30pm

Before I elaborate more, let's take a look at some of the photos I took.

Uniquely Cute

Some alphabet thingy

One thing I don't like is the way they make the artwork become part of the decoration.
And my friend said she don't like the mess on the floor.
It looks more like rubbish than the deco.

Hola, one of my friend's artwork, Fishball :)

My poster ^^

Ta-da. Me with my huge artwork. LOL.

Some sort of cave theme

Ta-da. My packaging design. Crispy 'n' Sweet.

This is a bit messy. No title, no name.

Nice drawing, but won't people notice the drawing more than the artwork itself? *wondering*

The calendar design

Ta-da. My calendar :)
Guess Miss Clare didn't lie to me when she asked me to print another set for her for exhibition.

Overall, I think the exhibition theme is nice.
The decorations are nice too.
But I think they concentrate too much on the decorations and theme than the most important thing, the artwork by students.
Because the first thing I notice is the decorations and have to concentrate hard to look at the artworks.
And there is not enough space and angle for us to take photos.
I know the theme is maze but... the space is not really enough.
Like the aisle is too small.
And they didn't give any credit by putting names of students who did the artworks and also the title of the artworks itself.

I know you guys work very hard for it.
I heard.
Good job for the effort.
Hope you guys don't kill me after reading this & No hard feelings :)

/ Small Reunion

My bestie, Esther from high school has come back from Perth to KL for holidays.
I haven't meet her for, I think about 2 years?
Same goes with Hui Rin.
On last Sunday, me, Yu Liang, Hui Rin and Esther decided to meet up at MidValley for dinner.
A big thank you to Yu Liang for fetching me so I can meet up with Esther :)
We decided on the spot to have dinner at Kim Gary Restaurant.

Kim Gary Restaurant Hong Kong

We thought Hui Rin couldn't stay for dinner.
So we quickly grabbed the opportunities to have photo taken with her.

Esther ♥ Hui Rin

Me ♥ Esther ♥ Hui Rin

Me ♥ Hui Rin

Hui Rin ♥ Yu Liang

♥ Big thank you to the busy waitress to help us take this pic ♥

Yin Yang - Hong Kong style Milk Tea

Borsch soup - some sort of soup with a taste of sour but nice

Baked cheese rice

Mixed Set

Dessert - Yum. I love dessert.

But at the last minute, Hui Rin decided she can stayed for dinner.
Yay!
So, let's EAT!

After eating, we went to take a lot and a lot of pics!
Hehehe.
Sorry if it is annoying.
But we just LOVE to take pics.

Acting Cute :P

Four of us still don't wanna grow up. Acting cute.
*Thanks to a cute teenager guy who helped us take this pic*

After that, we went to the arcade to play games.

The drummer girl

Rhythm guy

Miniature Basketball Arcade

After the games, we went home :(
Really sad to go home after having so much fun catching up with them.
Before I went off, couldn't resist the chance to take picture with Esther again.
I think Yu Liang is a bit fed up with us for camwhoring so much.
Hahahaha.

♥♥♥ Bestie Forever ♥♥♥

I really miss the time with you.
Like when we went to shop for nail polish, couldn't decide on which color we want.
Kind of frustrating but fun at the same time.
Really miss those girlie times.
Hope we can meet with each other again soon!
